The International Conference of Labour Statisticians, the global standard-setting body for labour market statistics, is meeting at the ILO to review new trends and requirements in data gathering and usage, and methods for measuring key indicators related to advancing social justice.

Governments, employers’ and workers’ representatives discussed the opportunities and challenges of digitalization in the retail sector, at an ILO technical meeting.

The major conference will take place at the ILO headquarters in Geneva from 11-20 October 2023. This edition will celebrate the centenary of the Conference, that was first held in October 1923.

The ILO Director-General will participate in a series of high-level events, highlighting the need to tackle inequalities, create decent jobs and make progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to be held during the UN General Assembly.
